North Shore Trust and Savings Team Member Spotlight: Meet Phil LaGiglia

Philip LaGiglia, our Senior Vice President of Lending, joined North Shore Trust and Savings through the acquisition of Oak Leaf Community Mortgage in 2023 to lead the bank’s residential lending department now named Oak Leaf Community Mortgage powered by North Shore Trust and Savings. With 32 years of experience in the lending industry, Philip considers his greatest professional “blessing”  has been the opportunity to work with thousands of people in the mortgage sector, helping them achieve their professional and personal goals while striving for excellence.

In his role, Philip is dedicated to supporting each team member within the residential loan department with a “work for them” mindset. His focus is on meeting the needs of his team to ensure they can consistently exceed client expectations. Philip finds joy in serving his team, being part of significant financial decisions for homebuyers and homeowners, meeting new people daily. This role allows him to make a positive impact on many lives, which he finds deeply rewarding.

Philip is actively involved in the community, volunteering at various events, participating in professional chambers, and engaging in lending industry activities. He is committed to improving and growing his community by being present and supportive of group initiatives and individual needs.

A fun fact about Philip is that he played the trumpet for 12 years, leading to incredible experiences. He traveled across the country for concerts, performed in blues and jazz clubs as a young teenager, and earned a college scholarship for his trumpet playing, which he chose not to pursue (a story for another spotlight!). Outside of work, Philip cherishes time with his family, including his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family. He is passionate about his faith, enjoying Bible studies, teaching, and sharing his love for Christ Jesus with others.
